Coming repeatedly to the IBA for a few years has given me the opportunity to get a glimpse of the vastness of the whole Buddhist teachings which are so huge. Through this a new light has been shed on my practice, and on what I am really doing with my mind. Everything is here for one to concentrate 100% only on study and practice, which is something rare and maybe not even possible at home.

Amazing teachings, wonderful! I am overloaded with everything that I have received here and I am thankful for the chance to belong to IBA, so much that I will need time to take it all in.

The IBA is like my second home, it is all so wonderful! I have made many great friends, with whom I have had fun and learned about Buddhist philosophy. While staying here I have also had a chance to meet some of the greatest masters who are still alive. They have given me such inspiration to practise the Dharma! Thanks to the four years I have studied here I can say that my life has changed a lot and I feel so happy about the changes. Studying the Dharma intensively the way we do here really has a profoundly beneficial effect. The IBA is packed with possibilities for transformation: in three months one can accomplish so much! It also has the right environment and supportive people. If you are open to it, it is truly an amazing place to experience a challenge.

The IBA is a place where one is able to study philosophy intensively which is an opportunity that's quite hard to come by. The comfortable environment makes this much easier (nice food, people, and rooms, etc). All this allows you to concentrate more easily. I think one really receives an authentic 'spiritual' education, as we are taught by highly qualified Khenpos who teach texts that are traditionally studied in monasteries.

This is a wonderful place to learn, to practise and to share our experience. To live in such a sangha community, full of life, inspiring us to love more, to have compassion and be kind to one another. You don´t have to be a Buddha right away to live according to his example. You can also sing, dance and practise yoga. If people want to participate they can, if not they can observe with understanding kindness and love.

I like the company, people from all over the world, different types of people, interesting individuals. I like the dining room and the environment is so nice, it satisfies me a lot. I like the way all the Khenpos teach, with different approaches. The staff is very warm-hearted and kind. Year after year I see how IBA is making more effort to satisfy us and meet our requests, such as internet and other improvements in terms of resources, accommodation and services. We can have fun together by planning events and activities as a group. This draws us together so that we are becoming like a family. We sit together to eat and chat and it feels familiar; outside IBA we normally cannot do this. Also the library is great and we have many books.

A continuous soft rain of Dharma, bestowed by qualified and skilful teachers, a chance to meet ordained and lay Buddhists from all over the world, IBA is a joyous place to develop one´s path for the benefit of all beings.

It was a pleasure to be in the IBA surrounded by people who teach and practice Dharma, in a beautiful place, full of respect…I am very grateful.

For me IBA has meant the beginning of building the foundation for understanding better what I have been learning from other teachers for so long. Here I have been able to reinforce and clarify all the notions I had heard about before and put them into order, and in this sense it as helped me a lot. It has also been a very beautiful experience and I would encourage all Dharma students to experience this enriching opportunity.

People here are so friendly and the teachings are very clear. The Four Immeasurables teachings became very clear not just as an explanation but also for my own practice. It was great to listen to and pick up on Khenpo’s powerful presence, a very helpful experience.

People who come here from all over the world are involved in practice as well as in study. We practice “daily life” together, so we learn outside the classroom as well as during the privileged time we spend with our exemplary teachers. Study, practice and the daily joy of life in a beautiful environment are all part of the integrated IBA experience.

Before coming to the IBA I had been practicing for 10 years, but was wondering about the nature of the Buddha, Dharma and Sangha. I could not go further on my own, as my teacher back home is very busy. Here in IBA I feel so lucky to have a teacher you can ask questions to (and have tea with him). The environment is very rich, we can discuss the Dharma with people any time of the day, and that gives me faith.

This is my first time in Nepal for studies and I have found the IBA a most wonderful place to come to learn Buddhist philosophy. Its tranquil and safe environment, with friendly staff and dedicated teachers, have made this a joyful learning experience. I look forward to returning and continuing my studies again next year. Thank you IBA and Khenpo Jorden for your warm welcome.

I love Kathmandu and I love studying the Dharma, particularly the higher philosophical texts. The opportunity to study these texts, in my favorite place, was too irresistible! And what have I found at IBA? New friends, great food, a very clean and safe environment, and first class dharma studies!

The IBA is improving all the time. If you don´t have time, this is the place to come because the intensive program here is like putting seven years of study into 3 months. Also, if you don´t have money you have to come because, it is not costly to stay at the IBA. It is comparatively much cheaper than getting these teachings in the West, which would also take years! And if you don´t have faith, then you must come to the IBA because there is a religious environment here, a living spiritual atmosphere that will help you really live like a Buddhist.

I came here to the IBA to combine study, practise and to find a place where I can share and exchange with others what I know of who we are, where we come from and what we bring in our hearts. All this, in a very peaceful and safe environment that is so close to the stupa.

My expectations of the IBA have been fulfilled. I can see that the IBA can serve as a platform where Buddhism can integrate with the Western mind and with lay practitioners of the Western world. It can launch a more universal Dharma which could help so many people through openness and mutual understanding, so that we can revise our priorities in life and widen our horizons.

The IBA is very conducive to study, practice and to settling down your mind. I am very happy to be here because you can feel Khenpo Appey Rinpoche´s presence everywhere, so this motivates me and enhances spiritual development. Rinpoche is concerned about the place being perfect for students.
